With our head office based in the beautiful Shoalhaven region and representation in both the Southern Highlands and Illawarra area, Macey Insurance Brokers are the largest General Insurance Broker on the NSW South Coast.

Locally owned and currently employing 24 staff, we have been providing general insurance broking services to this region for over 40 years. Our organisation employs 7 diploma qualified insurance brokers all of whom have a broad knowledge of insurance classes and the many industries we service.

With brand new offices in both Nowra & Bowral, the Macey organisation has become an employer of choice in the local area, as well as a 2013 Shoalhaven Business Awards finalist across multiple categories.

As an insurance broker we represent our clients in the arrangement and placement of insurance policies for all types of insurable risks. We work on behalf of our client in the negotiation with insurers to find the most comprehensive policy at a competitive price. Importantly, our role also consists of claims negotiation and management to ensure the most favourable outcomes for our clients.

As traditional regional insurance brokers, we have, over time, developed the skills to place and service many varied and complex insurance risks, including the management of large commercial and industrial accounts.

Brendan has been a director of Macey since 2005 and has a passion for positive management and growth of the business. His role includes general operations, marketing, technology and human resources. Brendan’s calm and welcoming demeanor enables him to engage appropriately with his clients to ensure that their most complex insurance issues are resolved and managed without stress. His broad experience in all areas of general insurance allows him to manage clientele in a diverse range of industries including transport, freight & logistics, construction, aviation, wholesale, retail, licensed clubs and professionals. Brendan is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker and holds an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking). Brendan is also the President of the Shoalhaven Business Chamber as well as having a seat on the newly formed Nowra CBD Revitalization Committee. Brendan is a born and bred Nowra local and enjoys the odd game of golf when he can and also enjoys spending his spare time with his wife and three young sons.

Paul has nearly 25 years experience in the Insurance Industry. He commenced his career as a trainee account executive with Macey Insurance Brokers in 1990 before continuing his professional development with an International Brokerage in Canberra. Born and bred in Nowra he has a particular interest in the continuing success of businesses in our region and has previously volunteered as a judge for the Shoalhaven Business Awards. Paul has previously specialised in large construction, property, liability, workers compensation and information & communication technology risks. He holds an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking), is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker and is a member of the NSW state executive of the Insurance Brokers Network of Australia (IBNA). Married with two young daughters, Paul enjoys travelling with his family, training for and competing in marathon mountain bike races, as well as playing golf.

The Company head office is located in Nowra in the Shoalhaven region.

Kathy has over 35 years experience in the Insurance Industry.  She commenced her career in Nowra with the NRMA. After travelling overseas for two years she started work with Macey covering numerous roles within the business for 15 years before becoming an Insurance Loss Adjuster. Kathy ran her own business for 18 years, covering the South Coast area and attending many of the natural disasters throughout Australia during her assessing career, extending her Insurance knowledge into all facets of claims. Kathy recently returned to Macey as an Insurance Broker. Born and bred in Nowra, Kathy’s family has a long history in the area going back several generations. She holds numerous qualifications in the General Insurance sector as well as being a Chartered Loss Adjuster. Married with two adults children she enjoys travel, golf, the local beaches and generally enjoying life.

Adam has 14 years experience in the insurance industry.  He started his career in Sydney as an underwriting assistant at EIG-Ansvar & also had stints at GIO Motor Claims & three other General Insurance Brokers before relocating to the Shoalhaven with his wife and sons in 2012.  The majority of his Insurance Broking experience has been in Heavy Motor & Plant/Equipment insurance products. Adam is Tier 1 qualified and is in the process of completing his Diploma in Insurance Broking. He enjoys spending time with his wife and sons (6 & 3) and spending time at the beach.  Adam also has his motorbike licence and is ready to upgrade to a Harley Davidson.

Kerri started her Insurance career in Darwin, NT at a young age. After having two children, Kerri and her family relocated down to the south Coast to be closer to family. Having had a break from the Insurance Industry for a period of 5 years, Kerri started at Macey’s in 2006.  With over 24 years experience, Kerri has gained her knowledge from both Insurance Company and Broker levels.  Kerri is a cheerful staff member always willing to provide a high level of service focusing on the needs of our Customers. Married with an adult daughter and a teenage son, Kerri enjoys spending time with her family, walking the local beaches, community work and is involved in her local Junior Rugby League Football Club.

Daniela has 19 years experience in the Insurance industry. Initially started her career in Sydney in the Motor & Travel Claims Departments, and progressed to a Claims Team Leadership roll. In 2005 Daniela decided to make a sea change and move down to Jervis Bay – Vincentia and joined Macey Insurance Brokers as a Broker Assistant. Since then Daniela has gained a Diploma in Insurance Broking, and experience in providing complete Insurance programs for tradesman, businesses, home warranty, domestic policies & claims advice & assistance. Daniela enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 daughters, loves to take part on weekend sporting activities with the kids, go fishing, boating, snorkelling, travelling, painting & a supporter of the NRL Canterbury-Bulldogs.

Donna Dykstra has been with Macey for over 17 years in various roles including Account Management. Donna’s extensive knowledge of our business and our objectives gives her the credentials to ensure our high levels of customer service are consistently met by the Macey team. With a strong focus on client relationships, Donna provides complete insurance programs that are appropriate to the needs of our clients. With a Diploma In Financial Services (Insurance) Donna became a Company shareholder in 2013 and is now the Branch Manager of our Bowral Office that was established in 1991 and now comprises a total of seven staff. Donna enjoys spending time with her young family and loves to travel.

David established the Bowral Branch of Macey Insurance Brokers in 1991 after having worked with a number of insurance brokers and underwriters over many years. He takes pride in maintaining a high standard of personal service to clients in the Southern Highlands where many of them have been dealing with the company since it commenced operating in the area. David enjoys participation in a range of outdoor sporting activities as well as regularly attending live theatre and musical productions.

Catherine is one of our internal brokers at our Bowral Branch and came to Macey in July 2010 following a five-year career in real estate as a property manager. Starting out in the business as a broker’s assistant in 2012 she became an account executive managing her own portfolio. Catherine has attained her Certificate III in Financial Services and her Diploma of Insurance Broking and continues her learning at industry training seminars. Being born and raised in the Southern Highlands Catherine knows the area and the businesses well and is always eager to support and assist the local district.

Luke began his career in the insurance industry in 1994 with a large Australian insurer before moving to general insurance broking in 1997 and has really enjoyed building close partnerships with his clients to help them protect their businesses from the risks & exposures they may face. Luke joined Macey in February 2014 bringing with him 20 years industry experience as well as a Diploma in Financial Services (Insurance Broking) and he is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker.  Luke is the Area Manager for Wollongong and Macarthur regions. Luke enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 kids, from a quiet family outing to supporting his children take part in various sports.  He is also a keen soccer fan.

Jill’s 20 year insurance career has reached many accomplishments including the completion of her Diploma in Financial Services (Insurance Broking), working for large and small broking houses and a short stint in the London insurance market. Jill’s experience across large corporate portfolios specialising in property owners, manufacturing, motor vehicle fleet, executive residence householders, binders for the civil contractors industry, also heavily involved in heavy transport insurance. Most recently Jill has managed a small team of brokers with a large book of SME clients. Jill has a passion to get to know all about her clients business as well as her clients, she is consistent with her service levels and ensures clients are understanding of the insurance they are buying and the insurance that is available to them to protect their business and their personal assets. Jill enjoys training staff on insurance systems and always has a happy and can-do attitude. She is passionate about her local community and enjoys supporting local business especially indulging in the variety of coffee shops around the Camden area, she loves to take her son to a variety of parks and community events on the weekends. She loves coffee, wine, shopping, holidays and spending time with family and friends.
